Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to you from God our Creator, Jesus our Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit our Sustainer. With joy, we write to welcome your presence and participation for Consecration Day, November 20, 2022, at 9:30am, as we give thanks with a grateful heart for all God has given us!

When reflecting on our past year, we cannot help but give thanks with a grateful heart. Because of your faithful stewardship, our church has extended compassionate pastoral care to our congregation and community. We have shared in God’s love with the whole wide world through worship that that is true, meaningful, and beautiful. Over the summer, we gave thanks at the Foundry Kitchen and Bar through Bible, Burger, and Beer. Last month we abolished $2.452 million of medical debt for Lorain County and Ohio residents. Ultimately, the love of God made known in Jesus Christ never ceases to inspire us to give thanks with a grateful heart.

With the energy of the past moving us toward the new year, we are curious how the church will practice faithful stewardship as we live into our mission and ministry. Will you join us in giving thanks with a grateful heart by prayerfully discerning, making, and fulfilling a financial commitment to Christ’s church? As co-chairs of the Stewardship Committee, we are eager to give thanks for every pledge as we strive to live into who God is calling us to be and become.

We developed this interactive website for you to RSVP for Consecration Day, see the impact of your gifts, and make a pledge.

On Consecration Sunday, we will offer our pledge commitment cards for 2023 as part of our worship. If you can’t be with us in-person, we are glad to receive your pledge commitment online, by mail, or in-person at the church office.

Following worship, we will share a thanks-giving meal. The Hospitality Committee will serve ham, potatoes, beverages. To help plan food, please use the above link to RSVP by family last name and bring a dish to share. We request that last names A-L bring a salad or dessert and M-Z bring a side dish.

Please join us as we ponder anew all God will do through Washington Avenue Christian Church in 2023.

With grateful hearts,
Mary Siwierka and Lauri Warfield, Stewardship Committee Co-Chairs
