Month of Ministry: Connections Abound

Author Brené Brown says, “Connection is why we’re here. It is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. “

If you are like us, you probably have been craving connections with our WACC family and many others from whom we have been physically isolated. Even in the midst of this pandemic, there are many ways to continue connecting without ever leaving our own homes. We can be sure that most people need extra grace, patience, kindness, encouragement, and hope during these days. Our Worship Committee is hopeful that your imagination and creativity are flowing with ideas for contact with those who need it most.

Have you thought about a card shower for a birthday or anniversary? How about a drive-by parade honoring an achievement or special occasion? Zoom parties and Facetime provide opportunities to “gather” for a craft project, group cooking, book club, or any other encounter. We hope you find your own way to love and serve from YOUR doorsteps to the ends of the earth!

Life is best when we find ourselves happy, but even better when others are happy because of our actions. Although we are not able to be together inside the church building, we ARE still the church! So let’s keep showing up for one another. Keep being kind. Keep being thoughtful. Keep showing grace. Keep showing love. Keep connecting.

Love and blessings,

Sandy Rieth and Mary Lou Petersen
