2022 Second Quarter Assessment

Greetings to the saints of Washington Avenue Christian Church:

As of this writing, 2022 is more than half completed, and you have empowered our church to be faithful in its worship, work, and witness amidst a landscape of change and transition. I write with a second-quarter update on our financial situation.

We entered the second quarter of 2022 with a balance of $60,499 in our General Fund. Through the end of the second quarter of 2022, we had cumulative Contribution Income of $94,445, which represents 83.4% of our estimated income from you, the congregation, of $113,294. We have also received $36,104 from the Christian Church Foundation, the manager of our Permanent Funds. Income from all sources totaled $132,161 against a plan of $150,136. This represents 88% of our cumulative plan.

On the Expense side, our standing committees continue to do an excellent job of stewardship as we evolve in our operational life together. Total cumulative expenses through the second quarter were $156,288, against a plan of $174,185. This represents 89.7% of our cumulative plan.

The net effect of all of the above is that we ended the quarter with a balance of $39,407 in our General Fund. While we continue to seek our way forward following some significant changes during the second quarter, I remain confident in our financial future. Again, thanks to all for continuing your dedication and commitment to WACC.

Finally, as I end my 24 year tenure as your Church Treasurer, I would like to once again reiterate what a pleasure and honor it has been to have served such a loving and caring group of people.

Sincerely,

Dan Walker

Assistant Treasurer
