Summer Church School Beginning June 15, each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. WACC Elders will take turns leading a one-session all-ages class on topics from Bible history to current events, based on curriculum from The Thoughtful Christian. Ohio Disciples Women's Fall Retreat Unique but United in Prayer September 12-14 at Camp Christian. Workshops include "Change and Transition", "What is Prayer? Why Do We Pray?", "Models of Prayer", "Inward and Upward Approach", and "Retreat Choir". Registration fee includes lodging Friday and Saturday nights and meals Saturday-Sunday. Other activities include craft tables ($25/vendor, with table rental proceeds benefiting the Quadrennial fund), Gift Basket Silent Auction (please bring baskets to donate; proceeds will benefit the Women's Scholarship Fund), Cokesbury book store, Bible character costume night, and a toiletries mission project for victims of Ohio's recent floods (please bring washcloths, combs, soap, razors, deodorant, tissues, shampoos, lotions, toothbrushes, and toothpaste). $75 if registered by Aug. 22; $85 through September 11 (no on-site registration). Ohio Region Mission Gulf Area Work Trip September 22-26 to Metairie, Louisiana. Registration is $100/person and includes the week’s food and lodging, plus transportation from Columbus and back. Additional personal expenses will include approximately $125 for a two-night hotel stay (double occupancy) and food expenses on the trip to and from Metairie. Limited to 25 people. Ohio Regional Assembly Body Building: Strengthen Your Congregation for Mission October 17-18, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin (Columbus). Activities include workshops to strengthen your congregation, youth workshops at Camp Christian, a ministry fair and exhibitions, and more. (Youth activities will include, "It Takes Two Hands...One Heart: An Interactive Approach to Building the Body of Christ", based on Ephesians 4:11-13.) Registration is $35 per adult, $25 for youth in grades 3-12 and $20 for each child younger than grade 3 (includes Friday and Saturday care).
